This paper models the trading intensity of the US Treasury bond market, which has a unique expandable limit order book that distinguishes it from other asset markets. The results indicate that trade duration exhibits significant clustering and that the time taken to expand the tradable volume, known as ‘workup’, significantly decreases the time between the initiation of consecutive trades. Finally, we find that trade duration falls in the presence of scheduled news releases, but the size of the surprise in that news release is not found to be important. 相似文献

In this article, we construct a general model, which considers the borrower’s financial and non-financial termination behavior, to derive the closed-form formula of the mortgage value for analyzing the yield, duration and convexity of the risky mortgage. Since the risks of prepayment and default are reasonably expounded in our model, our formulae are more appropriate than traditional mortgage formulae. We also analyze the effects of the prepayment penalty and partial prepayment on the yield, duration and convexity of a mortgage, and provide lenders with an upper-bound for the mortgage default insurance rate. Our model provides portfolio managers a useful framework to more appropriately appraise the mortgage and more effectively hedge their mortgage holdings. From the results of sensitivity analyses, we find that higher interest-rate, prepayment and default risks will increase the mortgage yield and reduce the duration and convexity of the mortgage. 相似文献

To date, few empirical studies have focused on the location decision by residential developers in response to changes in the property tax. Based on a dynamic time-to-development model by Turnbull, this paper finds, using 17 years of parcel level data from Saint Louis County, Missouri, that higher than average tax rates increase the time-to-development for vacant parcels by between 4 and 11%, all else equal. Additionally this paper finds that the tax differential effect is cumulative, resulting in about a 20% increase in the time-to-development for the parcel facing the average number of years with a higher than average rate. The objective of this paper is to test for the importance of local agglomeration externalities in determining inward foreign direct investment (FDI) intensity, viewed as a measure of regional attractiveness to FDI. The links between the degree of FDI inflow penetration into Italy and its determinants at the regional level are examined using alternative fixed effects panel data model specifications, also extended to include spatial effects. It is found that sectoral and regional specificities are relevant in attracting inward FDI into Italy and the different effects of intra‐sector and inter‐sector spillovers can be distinguished. There is also evidence that the importance of agglomeration spillovers connected to the geographical distance varies across regions, indicating both substitution and complementarity effects from FDI inflows into neighboring regions. 相似文献

本文探讨了外贸依存度测算方法的改进问题,提出了以经济总活动代替传统公式中的GDP并考虑服务贸易的影响、运用加权平均及修正系数测算外贸依存度的方法,并以此新方法对中国的外贸依存度进行了重新估计。根据新方法测算的中国外贸依存度表明,中国外贸依存度是适中的,这为有关部门制定相关政策提供了依据。 相似文献
